about the clinician
Kolby Jackson M.S., CCC-SLP
Owner/Speech-Language Pathologist
Neurogenix was founded by Kolby Jackson, a certified speech-language pathologist. She wanted to create a private practice which catered to adults with neurogenic disorders involving their cognition, speech, language, and swallowing. Kolby received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. She has worked in a variety of adult settings such as skilled nursing, home health, inpatient and outpatient rehab center. Kolby currently holds a license in the state of Texas and is certified by the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
Kolby’s interest in speech pathology started at a young age after realizing we all acquire language at vastly different rates. However, in graduate school she found her passion while interning at a center for patients with Aphasia. She immediately had a genuine connection with the patients and her desire was to help adults regain their communicative and cognitive communicative skills. It was there working with aphasia patients that Kolby saw the importance of speech therapy in a functional and personalized way. It encompassed more than just drill cards and worksheets.
